Just got the machine first use, it worked well on carpet. The down side is the Amazon version is lower cost, but has no bare floor tools, be prepared to invest another $20 to $25 for the tools.

Bought this steamvac on Amazon, I just threw away $183, it leaks water everywhere, the recoverey tank dont fit right, fits very lose. it leaks wen it sucks up water. As far as cleaning the carpet goes, it does a terrible job. Give me my Bissell hotvac back. Dont waste your time or money on this hunk of junk.

I bought this after I broke my Bissel. It came from Best Buy. I paid for the extended warranty. At the time the closest Best Buy to my home was about 30 minutes away. I got it home, put water and cleaner in it and turned it on. The brushes didn’t spin. I read the manual again and called Hoover. They just told me to exchange it. I exchanged it, brought a new one home and cleaned my carpet. It worked for about 3 weeks and the brushes broke again. (I used it to clean up after my dog that liked to get into flower pots) The same thing happened to 2 others. The last one leaked really bad. I went through 4 of Hoover cleaners before I took the last one back to Best Buy and got my money back. I bought another Bissel and it has worked since.

The Hoover performed up to expectations, exceeding the competition (Bissell) in liquid handling (filling, emptying and cleaning) by a wide margin. Well worth the price.
